  1. I never objected in my life to having anyone, male OR female, pay for my meal unless I knew that they really couldn’t and shouldn’t, in which case I pay. I hold doors for everyone because no one likes a door slammed in his/her face. Good manners are grease on the squeaky wheel of society. When applied with grace and common sense, simple politeness can improve relationships between everyone and everyone else, including married couples (whether the same or various sexes) who need to be reminded that words such as “please” and “thank you” are not forbidden to those who have passed through a wedding ceremony.
